Teacher Appreciation Week 2023

Updated: May 8, 2023

Check out the list of local businesses offering discounts and promotions

In anticipation of Teacher Appreciation Week, May 8-12, 2023, we reached out to local businesses in Baltimore and invited them to share what they are doing to celebrate our teachers. Below you can find a roundup of several great offers.

Teachers, we hope you take some time for yourself during Teacher Appreciation Week and enjoy these fantastic promotions from local businesses. Thank you for all that you do!

And for all of us not in the classroom, let’s take the time to thank the teachers in our lives for their hard work and dedication. Write them a note, bring them a special treat, or simply tell them how much they mean to you. And please pass along this post to them.

Fitness/Wellness

Fivex3, a strength training facility in Brewers Hill with a simple, no-nonsense approach to helping people get stronger, is owned by Emily and Diego Socolinsky. Emily is a former teacher in, and graduate of, Baltimore City Public Schools. They are great trainers and teachers and they are offering:

  • $325 for four introductory strength training sessions (a 10% discount) for new clients that are teachers;

  • 50% off the first month of membership for new members that are teachers;

    • Month-to-Month Membership: First Month $105 ($210 normally)

    • Six Month Membership: First Month $95 ($190 normally)

    • Yearly: First Month $85 ($170 normally)

I started going to Fivex3 in the Fall of 2021 and highly recommend strength training to everyone. I wrote about my journey with strength training here. Email emily@fivex3.com to take advantage of these great offers!

REV Cycle Studio is offering a variety of promotions throughout the week, including:

  • Discounted unlimited memberships of $125/mo ($175 normally) for teachers for three months, e-mail info@revuup.com to sign up!

  • *Limited Space* Free spin class for teachers overlooking the harbor at Sagamore Pendry Hotel in Fells Point on Friday, May 12th at 5pm. The free class is available to the first 40 teachers to sign up. E-mail info@revuup.com from your school email account to reserve your spot.

  • One-time discount code valid for a single credit. Enter the code REVLOVESTEACHERS at checkout. The code is valid through May 14th.

  • Raffle to win prizes in-studio throughout the week for teachers. Each class you take, you will be entered to win. Bring your teacher ID and fill out a slip at the front desk before any ride the week of May 8th at their location in Brewers Hill at 3700 Toone Street and you'll be entered to win.

E-mail info@revuup.com for more information or with any questions. We have clients in Baltimore, Cincinnati, and New Orleans and have tried spin studios in all three cities, and REV is my favorite.

The Loft Brow Lash Skin/SaunaFit is offering 20% off services for teachers who are new guests during the entire week of May 8-12. Use the code TEACHER23 when booking your appointment at either of their locations in Brewers Hill at 518 S Conkling Street or in Federal Hill at 1238 Light Street. I started going to the Loft while working in Baltimore City Public Schools. After a long day, nothing felt better than the sauna and cold plunge. It is a great full body reset.

Emily Fleming Yoga, run by Emily Fleming, a Baltimore City Public Schools teacher, is offering 50% off her 6-week self-paced online course, “Calm, Balance, Vitality,” for educators. Use code TEACHER50 on her website at https://emilyflemingyoga.com/calmbalancevitality.

For a list of national businesses participating in Teacher Appreciation Week, check out this great resource from New Schools for New Orleans. Their efforts compiling the list for New Orleans educators inspired us to do the same for Baltimore.

Special thanks to Mangrove Strategies contributor Devyn Heit for her assistance in outreach to local businesses.
